deep. so deep.

I’m really beginning to believe that the older you get, the faster time goes.

I’ve been in Maryland for a year now. Just, wow.

life's big questions.

Why are white t-shirts always made so thin?

Seriously. I’ve never owned a white t-shirt that hasn’t needed a tank, cami or another tee underneath it so the world doesn’t see my bra.

It’s especially perplexing considering that other colored t-shirts, even by the same brand, are not half as “see through.” I don’t get it.

irreverence is good, part deux.

I am drinking Cherry Coke in a Pepsi glass.

I am such a rebel.

good on you.

I have to give Ashanti credit. For being ‘ingenious’ enough to always have someone say her name at the beginning of her songs.

It’s brilliant really. I rarely listen to the radio these days but when I do, I always know when it’s her as opposed to one of the other generic female singers. “Aaaaashaaaaaannti.”

hoo-ray for el-jay.

My LiveJournal exists soley to fulfill three purposes.

1) Total, merciless self-deprication. I find it very difficult to take myself seriously and am endlessly amused by folks who are overly serious.
2) Share whatever music I’m currently listening to with my friends list.
3) The occassional foray into serious real-life stuff when it arises (as of late).

It’s not that I don’t like the idea of blogging anymore. I simply like that I can choose who gets to read the ‘personal stuff.’ Well, that and I think my LJ layout is super awesome and LOVE that I can comment with icons. But if not for those things, I think I’d still be blogging an entry a day like I used to ‘back in the day.’

Yeah, that’s it.

cannot.stop.laughing.

LOL @ ‘The Mannings.’ Oh noes!

another year down.

Two thousand and six? Already? Geez.

I like where I am at the moment. The place and what I am doing. I’m good.

That being said, I do miss Pittsburgh. Especially the people & functions. Like the New Years party I attend every year (except, obviously, not this year).

And apparently I missed a good one… There was a mullet wig that got passed around. A mullet wig. And Elvis, again! (And photos from said gathering served only to make me jealous.)

Also, Christmas was awesome if not too quickly fleeting. I spent lots of time with my family, ate lots of Christmas cookies (brought some back with me) and even got to attend a pretty good hockey game. (SIDNEY CROSBY OWNS and if I were sixteen I’d probably have a crush on him…but I’m not and I don’t.)

My family all loved their presents. (I think my parents were especially touched by the framed pictures my siblings and I gave them. It wasn’t even so much the frames we bought but the photos I picked out.) It was very lovely.

Normally I don’t worry too much about what I am given but this year was so astronomical that I can’t help but brag a little. Santa totally thought I was a good girl this year!

My parents gave me an iPod Nano. His name is Jack the iPod. He is the most beautiful little thing in the world. He makes my cell phone – my tiny, little, light cellphone – look bulky. (I do have a crush on him.) And he’s been playing The Wallflowers a lot lately. (And to top things off, they also gave me a Hines Ward jersey. Hines Ward! Coolest.Parents.Ever., for serious.)

My sister gave me some really cool Hello Kitty stuff. My brother gave me a Penguins hockey outfit for my Build-A-Bear penguin, Mario (I had a generic hockey outfit before and had wanted a Penguins one very badly). My cousin gave me the exact fleece sweatshirt from American Eagle that I had wanted (and she didn’t even know I had wanted it). And those are just my absolute favorites.

Really the best was just being around my family (immediate and extended). And all that wine & punch I drank. But mostly the family. (Or maybe the family was enhanced by said alcohol? Technicalities.)

I want a hoola-hoop.

(An entry in which too many paragraphs begin with the letter ‘I’ and half of which had been sitting on my desktop as a textfile for two whole days. Awesome, I am not so much.)

I love Christmas time. Being around my family. And cookies – oh do I love Christmas cookies.

I love giving my family and friends presents. Just to see the reaction. I put a lot of thought into the things I buy and give to the people I care about. (Probably too much at times. Then again, I’m an over-thinker by nature.)

I’m very easy to buy for as I’m happy with anything that has thought put into it. (Like the one year for my birthday, my brother & sister bought me these two little plastic/rubber penguin figurines. Cheap, sure but they got me something they knew I’d love and that means more to me than the object itself.)

I’d rather give a great present than get one. I suppose I’m all about the ‘warm fuzzies.’ :)

Also, I am disappointed that it’s probably not going to snow for Christmas (in Pittsburgh, at least). I’m still a kid at heart in that respect, I guess – I hope for it every year.

Honestly, I can’t even remember many Christmases from my childhood that were ‘white.’

Though, as of now, weather.com is predicting freezing rain Friday for my Penguins game. That’s kind of not cool.

I'm dreaming of a what?

I’m having a difficult time accepting the fact that two weeks from today it would be Christmas Day.

Not that I’m not excited (I am, very – I love Christmas) but because I’m still not sure where the last six months of this year went.

I’m feeling a mix of incredulity and impatience. At this point, I kind of just want to go home and wrap presents and eat cookies with my family. But at the same time, I don’t want to rush it.

Also, I am watching the Steelers/Bears game on tv and it is snowing like crazy back in Pittsburgh. I am jealous.

black friday? not so much.

Three days ago I was freaking myself out because I had done absolutely none of my Christmas shopping AND had no clue what I was going to get for anyone.

As of yesterday, I am done. Completely and totally finished. Behold the miracle of buying online. And I’m not even going to have to pay shipping on anything because of all the specials.

So I took the opportunity to buy myself two early presents – paid time over at LiveJournal and this. (I’m hoping the latter will arrive in time for my Penguins game next month.)
